Yacht Charter Crew
The dedicated yacht charter crew on-board our beautiful yacht Glaros, are making sure your holiday is a happy and memorable occasion. Your crew will comprise of a captain, two deckhands and the hostess. They all work together when mooring and anchoring the boat in each of the many harbours or bays you wish to visit.
The captain is in charge of the navigation; and has expert knowledge of the Islands. Cruising around them for many years now, he will discuss and plan with you each day. Looking at the various places which you could visit. The captain’s main concern is your safety and comfort. He will monitor the weather day and night. If the forecast is not favourable, he will know a good place to shelter.
The two seamen will help you prepare the windsurfers and kit you out with the snorkelling equipment. Each morning one of them will go ashore, sometimes in the speed boat, to get fresh bread and other supply’s. When we are at anchor, if you wish to go ashore to explore. You are welcome to go with them at any time throughout the day or evenings. They are also responsible for keeping the outside of your luxury charter yacht, squeaky clean. You will see them each day scrubbing the decks and polishing the stainless steel, without getting in your way or disturbing you. Before the start of each day one of the crew, go down into the engine room, to check the engines and generator. This is a vital job which keeps the mechanics of Glaros running.
Charmed by the majestic beauty of the Greek Islands, but also the fresh food served up by your hostess. Which is as good as some of the finest restaurants on the islands. We base the meals on your specific requests, which you will let us know by filling in a preference sheet. As soon as you confirm your charter we send you a preference sheet. Your hostess will discuss the catering with you during the voyage, but please take the time to fill out the sheet. This then enables us to prepare. Then you can have some of your favourite food and drinks while you are on-board with us.
Each morning as the sun shines. The smell of fresh Coffee will greet you. You may wish to go for a swim before breakfast, or read the morning paper. (only available in Greek on some of the smaller Islands). Or just lay in the sun. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. You can enjoy it out on the back deck as the day warms. The hostess keeps the inside of the boat clean, and she will help you with any other requests you may have.
A luxury crewed yacht charter sounds like paradise and believe me it is. Whether you require a corporate yacht charter, a private yacht charter, or just a berth, it’s always an incredible experience. A crewed yacht charter gives you the opportunity to cruise around the islands without having to worry about the navigation, or even having to lift a finger.
The two Greek members of your crew have expert knowledge of the whole cruising area and the local customs. They know the best beaches, walks, and other activities that are going on ashore. They can help you find the best restaurants where you will get the freshest traditional local foods. On-board the yacht, you want a friendly professional crew you get on with as you will spend a lot of time together on-board. The crew members are professionals, they know their place on the yacht and understand their jobs are to help you get the most enjoyment out of your holiday.
The gross charter fee does not include tips. It is also not mandatory, however; it is customary. Your crew will work very hard to help make your holiday both enjoyable and successful. Should you feel that the service your crew has given you was exceptional, a tip equal to 10% of the charter fee is normal. If you wish to give a higher discretionary figure, they would be more than delighted. The captain is best qualified to determine how your tip. Some members of the crew, will have done work behind the scenes, like keeping the engines running and trouble free. They will all have contributed in their own ways to the success of your yacht holiday. However if you wish to give the tips out, please do so.
