Here at Deep Blue Yachting, we sail wherever the waters are calm and shores are Greek. While we enjoy seeing all kinds of different Greek regions, our favourite is also our home: the Ionian Islands. These stunning jewels are located off the country’s western coast. They include tourist favourites such as Corfu, Lefkada and Zante. One of the biggest draws of the Ionian Islands is their picturesque beaches. Here are some of the best beaches.
Best Beaches
Soft sand, crystal clear water and warm southern European sunshine. Beaches don’t come much finer than the beaches found on the Ionian Islands. However, not all beaches were created equal. Below we have our top picks of the best beaches, from all over the Ionian Region. On a yacht charter holiday you can also visit some beaches which will be deserted. This is because, you can only get to some beaches, by boat. So book with us and have your very own, private beach experience.
Navagio Beach, Zante
This really is one of the best beaches, Greek beaches don’t come any more famous than Zante’s own Navagio Bay. Known for its secluded location and run-aground smugglers’ ship. This paradise is only accessible by boat, unless you fancy yourself a good free-climber. Great for sunbathing, exploring or partying. We can get you there without resorting to the overcrowded ferry at the perfect time for your preferred beach activity.
Egremni, Lefkada
Long, wide and gorgeous, Egremni is the perfect example of a traditional Greek beach. Backed by cliffs, overhanging trees and rocky breakwaters. With the serene azure Mediterranean waters flowing up and down the beaches silky white sand. Egremni can also be hard to access, as the only way to reach it is a slightly perilous set of stairs carved into the cliffs. But, just like Navagio, we can take you right to the shore. Bypassing any unpleasant climbing experiences and getting you right into the relaxing atmosphere this beach is renowned for.
Paleokastritsa, Corfu
Probably the hardest beach on our list to pronounce, Paleokastritsa is placed in a very different setting from most Greek beaches. Made up of a number of secluded bays these areas are protected from ocean winds and currents. They are surrounded by luscious woodland, making them the perfect place to swim. Your captain will be happy to lead snorkel trips around this area, as well as take you to see the many beautiful caves in the region.
Anti-Samos, Kefalonia
The largest beach on our list, Anti-Samos curves round the eastern coast of Kefalonia. Backing onto not cliffs, but a thick forest and rolling hillsides. There aren’t many places in Greece where you can feel such a sense of scale as Anti-Samos. With nothing to see but beautiful blue waters and trees for miles. This beach gives you a wonderful feeling of seclusion, one rarely felt in our hectic modern-day lives. If you love the idea of being alone on a romantic island, this is your beach.
Want to see any or all of these beaches? Then book a trip aboard our luxury and private yacht the Glaros, and we’ll charter a course right away!
