A Greek Islands guide: These beautiful and illustrious gems all connected by the clear and welcoming waters of the Mediterranean. A popular tourist destination for those in Europe and the rest of the world. The islands such as Corfu, Lefkada and Cephalonia feature luxurious villas, holiday complexes and resorts. Every year, thousands of people flock to these sorts of locations looking for relaxation and holiday memories. While that might be fine for some, others are always looking to get more from their holiday.
A Greek Islands Guide On A Crewed Yacht Charter
The best way to get more out of your holiday is to see all the different aspects of the islands. Not just what the tourist hot spots have to offer. But, to see more you need to figure out a way of getting around the many incredible islands Greece has to offer. Light aircraft often frequent the larger islands, meaning you could travel between them by plane. But they will only really be traveling to the most populated areas that are well known to tourists, so that isn’t much help.
A Boat then, would seem to be the most logical step for exploring land surrounded by the Med. This opens up a few more options. Small ferries travel between most of the inhabited islands, but not all provide transport for cars. So once you arrive there you are pretty much stuck for transport. The next option you have is a cruise, you can find a fair few of these running around select destinations. But yet again they are all running to tourist hot spots. Which means you miss the beautiful and tranquil backdrop of culture and history in favour of cheap and cheerful holiday attractions. As a resident of the Greek islands for over 20 years now, in my opinion there is only one way to visit the true islands of Greece; a trip aboard the yacht Glaros.
Having a privately chartered boat means you can go where you want. You can go when you want as you aren’t limited by transport. Also with the added bonus that you can avoid all the tourist destinations in favour of the more unique experiences. Furthermore the most incredible things to be seen are the untouched beaches. Also ancient ruins, underwater reefs and wild island forests. All places you can’t truly experience without a hundred other people in-toe. It is true that some tourist resorts will take their guests off in minibuses to see some ancient Greek ruins. But you try getting a feel for what it was like thousands of years ago. When you’re surrounded by noisy tourists constantly snapping shots with their cameras.
With a holiday aboard the Glaros we do away with all the tourist destinations and get stuck in to the true Greek Islands. We allow you to experience rarities most will never see, but with luxury and style. To see all the benefits we can offer you, have a look at our crew and activities pages.
